Saw this pretty cool and pretty cheap Eccaparadoxides. The inflated glabella is what intrigues me the most :)

Hi Mark,

looks not bad and its sold know. Eccaparadoxides is not really frequent, the size is small, some damage is visible on the librigenas, but anyway. Not expensive and the buyer might got a nice bug for low.
Unfortunately nothing is know about the seller, so some risk is there;-)

Auf Ebay werden jetzt gerade einige Trilobiten und Teile aus dem norddeutschen Geschiebe angeboten. Sicher interessant für einige hier im Forum. Der Verkäufer ist "dromilites".

Offenbar laufen die Angebote alle morgen aus. Wen es interessiert, kann sich die Sachen ja mal anschauen! Augenroller

Not so weird, actually, as we can find the strangest colorations in seperate regions of a trilobite's carapace, don't you think? Süffisant

Sometimes I tend to believe that different colors on different parts of a trilobite shell - presuming we do not have to deal with a composition or a trilobite from a weathered matrix - may have something to do with the different strength and micro-structure of the original shell.

Perhaps some micro-structures encourage the intrusion of certain mineral substances during diagenesis while others do not ....

Yes, well perhaps not weird indeed, but really interesting nonetheless that this exoskeleton was stained in such a way. I think your theory is plausible.

The most interesting part I thought was that the traces are elongated in shape and also in the general alignment and place of where you would expect to find legs if you turned this fellow upside down.

Haven't seen this specific coloration in trinucleids before!

Anscheinend verkauft grade einer seine Sammlung kommt darauf an, wie teuer es noch in den 4Tagen wird, dann kann man ein ganz schönes schnäppchen machen;
